FSI / Flight Systems, Inc. Estes MAXI-BRUTE Conversion Kits
FSI / Flight Systems, Inc. Estes MAXI-BRUTE Conversion Kits
Here is the HONEST JOHN info . . . NOTE - The BOTTOM Ring is SMALLER in diameter than the other two rings . If anyone has info on the other Maxi-Brute Conversion Kits ( V-2, SATURN-V, PERSHING 1A ), please feel free to post it ! Dave F. Last edited by Ez2cDave : 10-23-2023 at 09:41 PM. |

I remember seeing these listed in the old FSI catalogs, but never saw the instruction sheets, much less had one!
I seem to recall that one of the members of the old North Shore Section on Long Island had an Honest John that was upgraded to an FSI mount. He (Bill Fickbohm) had a FSI Thunderbolt in his range box. I don't recall if he ever flew it.

Here are the ones for the Pershing and the V2. They are still in the package, so the photos make it a bit more difficult to get good shots of the instruction sheets.

I wonder if his is the one that I saw fly on an F100 at an open meet on Staten Island hosted by the Brooklyn Rocket Society in the late 70's. It flew great, but the chute took it over the fence of the South Beach Psychiatric Center. I'm pretty sure he got it back, though.

In the case of the E-60's, they all blow....I think I had maybe 3 successful launches of an E-60 out of about 20. I never had a F-100 fail. |
