Why that looks like a Pitsco school Rocket

It is. I slapped it together yesterday to fly tomorrow. We'll see if it earns a paint job. ;)

Forgot about those. I was thinking it looked sort of like an upscaled Estes Astron Mark, but then it wouldn't be a kit.

That was brought up on Facebox. It never occurred to me, but they do look a bit alike other than the oddball nose cone.

The nose cone looked Quest-quality, but the fins resembled a Semroc Vega. I thought it was maybe a scratch build.

I don't recall ever having seen one of these before. So of course I had to do a little web search, found the following related item:

and was quite delighted to find an educational kit that involved making your own body tube (something I've certainly never done before)!

But then imagine if you will my absolute horror when I saw the fin fillets on a completed yellow and blue rocket pictured on the product's photo navigation slider:

What are they (we?) teaching kids these days?! :chuckle:

I bought 3 of these on ebay a while back. I built one mostly stock, and was thinking the nose cone profile was close enough to try a scale model of Rocket Labs Electron rocket.



Look up the official instructions, the retaining hook just sets over the motor tube. No cutting a slot, so nothing besides a little glue to stop the hook from sliding back and forth a 1/4 inch.
